Meet Lena

An Experienced Local Therapist

I am Lena L Boyle LICSW, formerly Maples.  A native of the beautiful Okanogan County in Washington State.  I was born (we won’t discuss the years) at Mid Valley Hospital right here in Omak, WA, and raised in Winthrop, WA.  My family has lived in this area for many generations, owning and operating Lloyd Logging and Construction, having run Derry’s resort at Pearrygin Lake, and running cattle and other agricultural venues in the Methow area over many generations.

After graduating from Liberty Bell Jr/Sr High School, I went to Eastern Washington University and completed my BA with degrees in Applied Psychology and Counseling, Educational and Developmental Psychology.  I used these degrees to start my first job as a Case Manager at Spokane Mental Health doing Community-Based Rehabilitative work on an outpatient basis for the next 6 years and then returned to school while still working to get my Masters in Social Work; also from Eastern Washington University.  I graduated with my MSW in 2011 and now had experience in the inpatient setting as my internship was at Eastern State Hospital, where I got to experience both the civil and forensic units as well as the treatment malls, treatment team meetings, and coordination of care with outpatient providers.  I then moved to working in the residential setting after this, working with the chronically mentally ill, dangerous mentally ill offenders, geriatric populations and otherwise impaired individuals who did not have the necessary skill sets to live independently in the community or were in transitional phases of their life.

When it came time to start my own family, I was drawn back to these beautiful valleys and mountains that I have always called home as I wanted my children to experience so much more than just watching the concrete grow around them.  I wanted them to see all that nature and wide-open spaces can provide a person.  I now live in the Okanogan Valley with my husband and two children and a house full of fur babies.  And trust me, I would move the chickens inside if I thought my husband would permit it during winter!  We enjoy everything outdoors and anything that involves water.  I love to garden and cook and just to generally create things with my own two hands.  When I moved back, I started my career as a Designated Crisis Responder at Okanogan Behavioral Health Care where I quickly became a team leader in crisis work.  I loved my job and I loved helping the community, but the agency changed over time.  It was no longer the community/family/client-oriented entity that I had originally signed on with, and so I left to find new ways that I could better support my beloved community and those around me.

And so was born Into The Wilds Healing, PLLC.   Where not all who wander are lost, as some of us just need a little time in the wilds to find our hearts, our souls, and our healing.  To sit with our own self and become whole again.   I am devoted to those who want to do better than they did yesterday; that are willing to put in the work it takes to heal themselves and overcome past trauma or day-to-day stressors.  To learn new strategies and behaviors to cope with whatever comes our way.  To create a toolbox of healthy ways to manage stress and triggers, not just for ourselves, but those that we love and that may depend on us.  I am here to help you safely walk that path.  I will meet you where you need me to, and I will not force a path that does not suit you as that will have no benefit.

With over 20 years of clinical experience in working with a broad population of individuals across a wide spectrum of difficult issues, and across settings, let me put my knowledge and experience to work for you.  Allow me to travel with you 'Into the Wilds' of the mind past whatever barriers are blocking your path to 'Healing'.
